Just took apart this internal card reader from eBuyer to straighten out a bent Compact Flash pin, and low and behold, there’s a micousb slot hiding on the board under the USB port! Why haven’t they included a slot in the front panel to access it?! It always baffles me when manufacturers go to the trouble and expense of adding functionality and then disable or hide it. They’ve not beat me though, I’ll cut a slot in the panel to access it.
The Hiperdino next to our resort sells Duff Beer, Homer’s drink of choice on The Simpsons. I think we’ll have to try some just for the novelty factor. Yet another example of the crazy branding that happens over here in Lanzarote
Over here in Lanzarote Burger King has brought out a range of packaged snacks mimicking their food, just like McDonalds had the Ketchup. These French Toast Flavoured Snacks were vile, a disgusting combination of Wotsits and sugar with a hint of cinnamon. Oddly though, once I started eating I couldn’t stop stuffing my face with them. Must be the MSG.
It seems branded goods are big business here – We’ve seen loads of products from fast food brands like McDonalds and Burger King, and even Duff beer from the Simpsons(?!)

I didn’t know how seriously they take the ‘checking’ part of checking in at an airport. Apparently this terrible cutlery is to prevent me stabbing anyone. It certainly didn’t cause much damage to my bacon
I’m off to Lanzarote this morning for a week, so I’ll try to blog each day if I can find some WiFi. Waiting to check in now, Baldy is our chosen mascot for the trip due to his pocketable size.
Pot Noodle’s Christmas ad is out, and it’s full of the year’s memes. It’s fun that it so relentlessly mocks chavs, one of the largest consumers of the snack. Look out for Cat Bin Lady at the start:
